Cherry is the wood woodworkers reach for when the piece needs to be beautiful without trying. Fine, even grain with a warmth that red oak doesn't have — and unlike most hardwoods, it continues to change after it leaves the shop, deepening in color with light and time until it's richer than what it started as. The cherry smoker is a single oblong piece: clean, minimal, and meant to be used in one uninterrupted motion.
The Smoker
A rounded rectangular base with a recessed smoking bowl, fitted with a stainless steel mesh screen. One solid piece of cherry hardwood, finished with natural tung oil. No lid, no extras — just the wood, the screen, and the smoke. The wood you see today is not the wood you'll see in a year. Cherry deepens.
How to Use
Set the smoker base on top of the glass. Load a small pinch of wood chips into the bowl. Hold a flame to the edge until they catch and begin to smolder. Wait thirty seconds — a minute if you want it heavier — while the smoke falls through the screen into the glass below. Cover with the lid to hold the smoke in. When ready, lift the smoker off and set it aside. Pour your drink into the smoke-filled glass.
What's Included
The smoker ships with a 1 oz tin of oak chips, three stainless steel mesh screens, and a small drawstring bag. The chips are milled in our shop from red oak stock — the same wood we build with, not a retail blend
A butane torch is not included; a standard kitchen torch works well and is available at most kitchen and home stores.
